Like every other Dan Brown fan I went on pursuit to obtain my own copy of the latest LOST SYMBOL & I got it even though the summary didn't intrigue me much...hey what can I say i trust Brown, not to let me down and now that I have finished the book I can say am not disappointed. I know most critics would disagree with me but from the point of reader who wants just a bit of fun, entertainment, thrill with a dash of huma nity, values and conduct this book is perfect. Brown somehow manages to bring all these aspects together in some 500 odd pages and from where I stand I would call it pure talent. Granted the book is not one of his best so far but it has so many underlying values that an avid reader would never miss.
For eg: The small neglect a parent shows (even unknowingly) can be dangerous to a child. No matter how many discoveries we modern humans make our ancestors were always a step ahead of us. Whatever the science may claim there exists a force in this universe that cannot be measures - The Power of a Human Mind at its laser point concentration.
Even after reading the book I hadn't realized how our ancestors had much more advanced knowledge than us, but a good friend of mine got me out of my ignorance. I would have gladly explained to you in detail but that would be wrong to Brown's suspense I think readers should read his version first hand. The gist of it is however a character in the novel tries out a very astounding procedure (an experiment), one which I assumed very less people have ventured to do was actually practiced by out ancient forefathers (Even though the book didn't say that particular message). That in itself says Brown writes the facts the we people forgot through the passage of time. But nevertheless its not too late.... instead of contemplating whether Brown managed the suspense well or was the secret revealed, great and conspiratorial we could actually look into the depths of this book and understand there are no secrets hiding, they are there staring at our faces only we show a blind eye to them.
No matter what the reviews have said about THE LOST SYMBOL I know i have made a worth while investment
